Below is a calendar of popular events within the town of Banff and Banff National Park.


December 2014

Lake Louise Alpine Ski World Cup.

The Canadian Alpine Ski Team athletes take on the fastest World Cup skiers from across the globe at Lake Louise Ski Resort.

• 6th: WinterStart- Christmas in the Rockies with Santa.

Join us as we celebrate the holiday season with Christmas in the Rockies! Led by Santa Claus, creative and festive floats will parade down Banff Ave, highlighting the Christmas spirit of the Banff National Park. (More info and Packages available.)

• 13th: Canadian Holiday Train.

7:00 at the Banff Train Station. The train arrives and pulls to a safe stop in front of the crowd. The stage door lowers and the band opens with music. After about a half hour that usually includes a mix of traditional and modern holiday-themed songs, the band plays its farewell show, the boxcar door closes, and the train slips off into the night on its way to the next stop.



• 25th: Christmas in Banff.

• 31st: New Year's Eve- Wild Bill's Legendary Saloon.

Saddle up and ride on into 2015 with style. Live entertainment, dinner, drinks, and a big party. (Wild Bills Banff)



• 31st: New Year's Eve- Fireworks.

Fireworks, December 31 at midnight join the festival atmosphere throughout downtown Banff on December 31 for fireworks starting at midnight. The fireworks are launched from the Parks Canada Administration grounds at the south end of Banff Avenue.



January 2015

• 16th - 18th: TSN All-Star Curling Skins Game.

Back for its second year in Banff! The 2015 TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS GAME Presented by Pinty’s is bringing world class curlers to picturesque Banff. We are pleased to see this tournament make it to the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre.



• 11th - 12th: Mountain Adventure Weekend.

Banff SnowDays is featuring a 40 foot ice climbing wall downtown Banff with climbing instruction and gear supplied. Also take part in the downtown skating rink, and slide and ride.



• 16-18th: Banff SaSquash Open.

The Banff Rocky Mountain Resort hosts this unique Squash Tournament set in the heart of Banff National Park. (More info and Packages available.)



• 16th - 25th: Ice Magic Festival.

Two Weekends, twice the magic! Join us for this Banff National Park classic event. International Ice Carving competition weekend is January 16-18, Little Chippers Weekend is January 24-25. Come out for this amazing international event in Lake Louise.



• 30st January - 1st February: MEC Ice Climbing Festival.

Join MEC, Yamnuska Mountain Adventures, Climbers Access Society of Alberta and the Town of Banff for the MEC Ice Climbing Festival. The festival weekend is dedicated to celebrating the sport of ice climbing with everything from demos to clinics to friendly competitions.

February 2015

• 14th: Valentines Day

Nothing says romance like a winter wonderland getaway in Banff National Park.



• 16th: Family Day.

Family Day falls on the second Monday of February. This holiday celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities. This is one of the busiest weekends of the year for the town of Banff.



March 2015

• 17th: St. Patrick's Day in Banff

Looking for a traditional St. Patricks party, enjoy the festivities at the St. Jame's Gate.



April 2015

Bozo Cup

This annual event is an annual Head to Head dual slalom Pro-AM race appropriatly called the Bozocup in honour of Rob Bosinger and his love of skiing. (More info and Packages available.)



May 2015

• 10th: Mother's Day

Celebrate Mother's Day in Banff, spend the night in one of our family friendly accommodations and join us for brunch Sunday morning.



Banff Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival.

June 2015

Banff Bike Festival.

Banff National Park Bike Fest features five challenging road races and two family friendly events taking place throughout Banff and Lake Louise. (More info and Packages available.)



Banff Marathon

The Banff Marathon will be an incredible point to point race down the Bow Valley Parkway through a series of natural, wildlife, and historical stages finishing in downtown Banff. (More info and Packages available.)

July 2015

• 1st: Canada Day Celebrations.

A fun day of pancake breakfast, sidewalk art, Central Park fun full of performances. Enjoy the parade down Banff Ave before heading to Central Park for the spectacular fireworks display.



• 3rd - 12th: Calgary Stampede

"The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!" Started in 1912, The Calgary Stampede is a popular 10-day event held every summer in Calgary, Alberta. The Stampede hosts world-class rodeo, parade, midway, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuckwagon racing and First Nations exhibitions. (More info and accommodations available.)

August 2015

RBC GranFondo Banff

The RBC GranFondo Banff is the only GranFondo (mass participation cycling events) in North America that is fully contained within the boundaries of a national park. Starting and finishing in the beautiful mountain town of Banff, the 142 km route will take you into the heart of the Rockies to experience the awe-inspiring nature of Banff National Park, and discover its tradition of mountain culture. September 2015

Subaru Banff Triathlon.

Spectate or compete in what many consider one of the most spectacular triathlon events in the world. (More info and Packages available.)



• 26th: Melissa's Road Race.

The ever popular Melissa's 10Km & 22Km Road race. This road race takes runners through the streets and paths of Banff. Is a very popular event in Banff and sells out every year.



October 2015

• 12th: Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving, a national holiday celebrated in Canada as a day of giving thanks at the close of the harvest season.



• 31st: Halloween in Banff.

Fireworks, Bonfire, and fun in Banff. Come to Banff there is something for every age group!



• 31st: Halloween at Wild Bill's Legendary Saloon
